First song as CHAMPS for 10,000 Barbershoppers in Indy, July 8, 2006

Conseco Arena - Indianapolis, IN - Saturday Night July 8, 2006 - First Song As New Champions

Vocal Spectrum Wins Gold

A highly paid and well respected philosopher described our new champion’s win in Indy as: “a new radiant energy source absorbed the barbershop style and effortlessly emitted it out over the audience like thru a colorful vocal prism”.

Others just said, WOW!

In the closest win in the Society’s 68 year competition history Vocal Spectrum took home the big trophy by singing flawlessly and earning the best score on two of the three sets. Still it was only SIX little itty-bitty points that separated them from three time silver medalists Max Q.  The point spread of 6 of the total 8239 points is only a 0.06666% margin of victory, but it only takes ONE point, doesn’t it?

The youth movement in the Society now has an extraordinary benchmark with these four guys winning the College Quartet Championship (2004) and the International Quartet Championship (2006) after only THREE years as a group.

It was not a quirk or an accident as these guys are focused, dedicated and extremely talented. They worked hard for this. Can they truly appreciate this accomplishment? So many others reached this goal after many more hours and years.  So many others tried and failed.

Shockingly, this is only the beginning of the impact these four will have on our Society as the years go by. The longer they stay together the bigger the impact. We can’t wait to see what they are gonna do next.

They claim the experience was a blur and they are just now starting to realize what they did. It’s coming to each in little realizations. Each day there’s a new “Oh My! moment.
