Outreach
Launched in 2021, the AIC Outreach program supports under-resourced communities through youth educational outreach and grants to local and regional organizations. Funding enables these organizations to bring world-class barbershop quartets into their communities for performances, workshops, and meaningful engagement.
Since its inception, AIC Outreach has completed 25 chapter events and 13 district events through 2025. By year-end 2025, more than 8,200 students from 140 schools will have participated in AIC Outreach workshops, festivals, and performances.
Thirteen AIC quartets have participated in the program to date. In 2026, two more—Lemon Squeezy and Instant Classic—will join the roster. The program has also welcomed guest quartets from other organizations, including LoveNotes and Class Ring (SAI) and Ripple Effect (Mixed Barbershop), who joined AIC Outreach for a 2021 event in collaboration with the Southern California Vocal Association.
Interest in the program continues to grow, with 19 applications submitted for 2025 events and 26 for 2026. Overall, AIC Outreach has received 119 inquiries and 80 formal grant proposals since launching. Ten grants have been awarded for 2026, including BiNG, the program’s first international event, featuring Lemon Squeezy as the AIC quartet.
Through AIC Outreach events, international champion quartets lead in-school workshops and youth festivals, create opportunities for young singers to perform on chapter and district shows, and connect youth with local and regional barbershop communities.
